BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER – Preeminence Hardware

Preeminence Hardware is looking for a dynamic, target-driven and commercially minded Business Development Officer to join our growing team. We are seeking someone who can identify new business opportunities, build strong customer relationships and drive revenue growth across the hardware, building materials and construction sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and customer accounts.
  • Grow relationships with individuals, contractors, corporates, property developers, mines, NGOs and institutions.
  • Generate leads and convert them into sales.
  • Visit construction sites, companies, projects and potential customers to generate business.
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations, tenders and proposals.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and consistently follow up on prospects.
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable building materials and construction solutions.
  • Promote our building materials, fencing, doors, plumbing, PPE, steel and construction services.
  • Develop strategic relationships with procurement officers, project managers, quantity surveyors, contractors and other decision-makers.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs.
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales and business development targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of prospects, quotations, follow-ups and conversions.
  • Work closely with the sales, marketing, operations and procurement teams to ensure excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Marketing, Business Management, Sales, Construction Management or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in business development or sales, preferably in hardware, construction, building materials or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of building materials and construction products will be an advantage.
  • Proven ability to generate leads and convert opportunities into sales.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet targets.
  • Valid driver’s licence is an added advantage.
  • Must be energetic, presentable, proactive and results-oriented.
