First Capital Bank Zimbabwe is looking for a highly experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join the Finance team, reporting directly to the Head of Financial Planning. The ideal candidate is responsible for the Bank’s financial planning, performance management, and cost governance processes. They contribute to the production of high-quality management information, cost analysis, profitability insights, budgeting support and financial controls that guide strategic decision-making across the Bank, leveraging data analytics and business intelligence tools to enhance insight generation, decision-making and performance transparency. The incumbent partners with stakeholders across segments, branches, procurement and Business Intelligence, actively contributing to data modelling, dashboard development and reporting automation, ensuring disciplined budget execution, accurate financial data and continuous improvement of cost management processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare management reporting materials, dashboards, and financial analyses for Board, CMC, ALCO and the business as required.
  • Consolidate inputs from Finance and be the Business Intelligence (BI) expert in developing high-quality financial presentations.
  • Be a strategic partner for the Bank in monthly and quarterly performance packs, ensuring accuracy and alignment to reporting standards.
  • Lead role in annual budgeting and monthly forecasts.
  • Lead role in monitoring and reporting on monthly performance against budget ensuring that functions are fulfilling their accountabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all reporting deadlines.
  • Timely develop and automate visual dashboards to enhance executive reporting efficiency and insight quality.
  • Design, build, and maintain financial dashboards, KPIs, and performance scorecards using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Extract, clean, and structure data from multiple sources (ERP, GL and operational systems) to support reliable reporting.
  • Ensure data integrity, reconciliation and alignment between BI outputs and financial records.
  • Develop automated reporting solutions to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiency.
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights through effective data visualisation techniques.
  • Drive automation and digitisation of finance processes through use of BI tools, data pipelines and reporting solutions.
  • Support scenario modelling through data-driven assumptions and structured model outputs.
  • Use data tools to perform deeper trend analysis, segmentation and performance diagnostics.
  • Identify cost drivers and efficiency opportunities through detailed financial analysis.
  • Perform cost allocation analysis to ensure accuracy and fairness across units.
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis to support tactical / strategic change e.g. competitor analysis, costs analysis, ‘what if’ scenarios etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • Professional Qualifications: ACCA, CIMA, CA(Z), ICAZ affiliated qualification
  • 2-4 years’ experience in Management Accounting, Financial Analysis, Cost Accounting, or related finance role
  • Strong financial analysis and management accounting skills
  • Proficiency in ERP systems.
  • Advanced Excel (including data modelling); strong hands-on experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) including dashboard design, data transformation, and visualisation.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of data handling, including data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and structuring (ETL concepts).
  • Understanding of cost allocation, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability models.
  • Strong numerical accuracy and analytical capability.
  • Knowledge of IFRS principles is an asset.
