Role Summary

The Assistant Loans Officer will work closely with senior credit and finance personnel to support the marketing, processing, and monitoring of loan products. The successful candidate will receive structured training and mentorship aimed at equipping them with the necessary tools to become competent Loan Officers in the future.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in loan marketing and client outreach, including promotional activities in target communities

  • Support the loan assessment and appraisal process, including document verification and credit risk checks

  • Assist with the loan disbursement process, ensuring timely and accurate record keeping

  • Participate in monthly and quarterly loan performance reporting, including compiling borrower updates

  • Maintain accurate client files and assist with follow-ups on repayments

  • Provide customer service support by addressing client inquiries and guiding them through the loan process

  • Uphold institutional lending policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance at all times


Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 A-Level passes in commercial subjects (e.g., Accounting, Business Studies, Economics)

  • Strong interest in financial services, lending, or microfinance

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Basic computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

  • Willingness to learn and grow within the organization

  • Ability to work well in a team and engage professionally with clients
