Sable Foods, a leading name in the FMCG sector, is seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant – Debtors to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will provide critical support in debtor management, reconciliations, and financial reporting, contributing to the company’s overall financial health.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate debtors, creditors, and bank reconciliations

• Process cashbook receipts and ensure timely allocations

• Send weekly customer statements and monitor outstanding balances

• Generate weekly and monthly debtor reports for internal review

• Proactively follow up on outstanding payments with customers

• Assist with the preparation and processing of month-end reports, budgets, cash flows, forecasting, and management accounts

• Maintain an up-to-date external audit file in preparation for audits

• Perform inventory reconciliations and assist in conducting stock counts

• Carry out any other accounting duties as may be assigned by management

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role

• Proficiency in Pastel Evolution, Sage 200, and Microsoft Excel

• Sound knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial processes

• Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• FMCG experience and knowledge of the FMCG customer base will be an added advantage

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills are essential
