ZINARA seeks a detail-oriented and analytical Accounts Officer to safeguard the integrity of the organization’s revenue streams. The candidate will validate the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of tolling, vehicle licensing, transit, abnormal load fees through reconciliations, field verifications, and data analytics. The Accounts officer will be responsible for driving strategic decisions to minimize revenue leakage and optimize financial performance. The incumbents will be reporting to the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconciles daily/weekly/monthly revenue across all streams (tolling, vehicle licensing, transit, penalties) against bank statements, e-wallet, system reports, and third-party documents
  • Validates system configurations, tariff compliance, fee applications against statutory instruments
  • Investigates exceptions at revenue collection centres for Zinara revenue streams
  • Conducts spot checks, traffic counts, cash counts, stock-takes at toll plazas, VID depots, and weighbridges
  • Ensures the accounting of all Zinara prepayment products (E-wallet products, Zinara prepaid cards, FTP transactions, and other Zinara promotions)
  • Analyses revenue trends using Excel, Power BI, or Qlik Sense to identify patterns, anomalies, and leakage points
  • Develops dashboards/reports tracking revenue performance against budgets and key drivers
  • Forecasts revenue, flags deviations, and translates findings into actionable insights for management
  • Evaluates internal controls and recommends improvements to prevent revenue leakage
  • Supports internal and external audits with reconciliations and evidence
  • Liaises with regional offices, VID depots, and collection points on compliance

Requirements

  • 5 O’ Levels including English and Maths/Accounts
  • 2 A’ Levels passes or an equivalent qualification
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (added advantage)
  • Post graduate qualification in at least CIMA Advanced Diploma/ACCA part B/ CIS part C/Public Sector Professional Accountant of Zimbabwe (PSPAZ technician)
  • Certification in Power BI, Qlik Sense, or SQL is an added advantage
  • Minimum 2 years revenue in internal audit, finance, or data analysis (revenue-collecting preferred)
