ACCOUNTS CLERKS (GRADE B5) – Zinara 28 views

To support revenue assurance activities through accurate revenue reconciliations, verification of transactions, identification of exceptions and maintenance of accurate revenue records. The incumbents will be reporting to the Accounts Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists with daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation of revenue collections across tolling, vehicle licensing, E-wallet, transit, overload and abnormal load fees and penalties.
  • Checks system reports, receipts and supporting documents to ensure the accuracy and completeness of revenue transactions.
  • Identifies revenue variances, discrepancies, cancellations, exemptions, corrections and other exceptions and reports them to the Accounts Officer.
  • Captures, compiles and analyses revenue and operational data to support revenue assurance reviews and reporting.
  • Assists with verification of tolling, licensing, transit and weighbridge collections against relevant system and supporting records.
  • Assists with the reconciliation of licence discs, number plates, receipt books, permits and other revenue-related documents.
  • Participates in spot checks, traffic and vehicle counts, cash counts and other revenue assurance activities at revenue collection points.
  • Assists in preparing revenue assurance reports, schedules, reconciliations and exception reports for review by the Accounts Officer.
  • Maintains accurate and organised records, working papers and supporting documents for revenue assurance activities.
  • Liaises with relevant departments and revenue collection points to obtain information and supporting documentation required for revenue assurance activities.

Requirements

  • 5 O’ Levels including English and Mathematics/Accounts.
  • 2 A Level passes or an equivalent qualification.
  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 1-year postgraduate, relevant working experience in accounts, finance, revenue collection, auditing or a related field.
