Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Accounting Officer that has arisen in the Corporation. The Accounting Officer will report to the Accountant.
Support achievement of the corporation’s objectives by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing invoices, recording payments, and managing expenses to ensure smooth financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
  • Compilation and submission of statutory returns
  • Preparation and maintaining of ledger, creditors and bank reconciliations monthly
  • Maintain an accurate and up to date asset register
  • Monitoring daily cash flows and report discrepancies or issues to management
  • Processes authorised claims and preparation of requisitions for payment
  • Review processed invoices and orders
  • Review processed online banking transactions
  • Assists in maintaining of financial records
  • Assist in maintaining accounting systems and adhering to procedures
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by management

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Accountancy Honours Degree
  • Experience in PASTEL
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • Highly computer literate
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Five years’ experience.
