Qualifications and Experience

• A Degree in Environmental Health and safety management or other relevant discipline
• Membership of a recognized professional institution
• 3 years post graduate experience
• Experience in mining environment would be an added advantage
• SHATCO/OSHEMAC a requirement.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Identifies and raises awareness of safety issues for the project.
• Ensures production and maintenance of health and safety programmes
• Carrying out routine or unplanned visits and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and taking action to improve conditions;
• Investigates accidents at work and complaints about poor standards of health and safety, as well as identifying areas of negligence;
• Advises on planning and licensing applications;
• Monitors Contractors compliance to HSE guidelines requirements
• Identifies hazard and conducts Risk Assessment for critical activities
