Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Monitor financial performance and provide analysis and recommendations to management.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury activities.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Develop and maintain effective financial controls, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory returns and tax obligations.
- Support business units with financial analysis and decision-making.
- Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
- Provide strategic financial advice to Executive Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent is required.
- At least 5 years’ experience in mining and project management and finance leadership or management role.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and taxation requirements.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Sound understanding of internal controls, risk management, and corporate governance.
- Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms.
