Position Overview

Power Systems Africa is seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Technical Sales Officer to drive the growth of our electrical engineering projects and supply business. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and supporting the integration and application of power, automation, and solar technologies.

This role combines technical acumen with strong sales capabilities and involves a significant amount of client interaction through various channels (in-person, video conferencing, telephone) and occasional travel.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to expand market presence and acquire new clients.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners across the engineering value chain.

  • Provide application engineering support, including troubleshooting and product integration, tailored to client needs.

  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to identify and capitalize on business growth opportunities.

  • Deliver accurate and timely sales forecasts and reports, tracking all customer interactions and sales activity.

  • Manage a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring consistent communication, support, and long-term client satisfaction.

  • Conduct regular follow-ups with clients to assess service effectiveness, product usage, and opportunities for expansion.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Business Management, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in technical sales, pre-sales, or business development, preferably within engineering, construction, energy, or consulting sectors.

  • Strong understanding of electrical, solar, or automation systems and their integration processes.

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and client relationship management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to assess client needs and provide tailored technical solutions.

  • Certification in Renewable Energy or related fields is an added advantage.

  • Must possess a valid Class 4 driver’s licence.
