Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and monitor waste collection policies, strategies and operational plans.
  • Ensure compliance with the Environmental Management Act, by-laws and applicable legislation.
  • Coordinate daily collection, transportation, treatment and disposal operations in line with approved schedules.
  • Manage fleet, budgets, resources and collection teams for efficiency, compliance and safety.
  • Drive community outreach, recycling initiatives and illegal dumping prevention programmes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Honours Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Master’s degree in strategic management or a related field is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in waste management, solid waste operations, environmental services or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, waste management standards, fleet operations and occupational safety requirements.
