Job purpose
The Cholera Secretariat (CS) supported by HigherLife Foundation (HLF) is launching an ambitious 10-year advocacy campaign to eliminate cholera and other water-borne diseases by 2028, engaging a multi-stakeholder approach including the people of Zimbabwe, the private sector, the public sector, and philanthropists. The campaign is guided by a comprehensive roadmap with critical steps and key pillars that include water and sanitation hygiene, surveillance and response, innovative financing, resource mobilization, and infrastructural development
The Cholera Secretariat Zimbabwe is looking for a WASH Assistant to support roll-out of the cholera elimination roadmap
Requirements
First degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or WASH-related Field
• Certificate in Project Management and Monitoring and Evaluation an added advantage
• At least 2-4 years’ experience in a similar or related environment
• Experience in Participatory Health and Hygiene Education is an added advantage
• Experience in community social work
• Innovative, creative with a knack for developing tools and tactics for results
• Good report writing and communication skills
• Excellent PowerPoint, Excel, and reporting skills an added advantage
Key result area
Provide critical support to the WASH Specialist to ensure effective implementation of WASH project activities in enhancing knowledge and exchange on cholera and other water borne diseases in Zimbabwe
– Work in collaboration with SBU leaders and this is my home team in identifying and engaging target communities.
– Provide logistical support for all WASH community engagements
– Support and lead in the training of communities
– Ensure that planned WASH promotion activities are being undertaken correctly in designated project locations
– Participate in technical assessments, data collection, and technical surveys for WASH and in support of the M&E officer monitor progress
– Work closely with the team members and relevant stakeholders throughout the planning, design and implementation stages of the WASH project-cholera and other water borne diseases in Zimbabwe
