Key Responsibilities

• Identify value drivers to leverage opportunities to positively impact the operation through risk and opportunity management approach, resolving technical issues, mitigating risks.
• Establishes and maintains effective mineral resource management cycles, including planning, scheduling, block modelling, life of mine planning, surveying and reconciliation and analysis of cost and performance.
• Manages the performance of direct and indirect reports to ensure that the team performs optimally and are creating an environment that enables the Technical Services department to meet the short-term and long-term business plans.
• Manage underground ground support designs and stability monitoring.
• Monitors and enforces compliance with the approved mine plans and schedules ensuring that overall KPIs are met by the Mining Department, within the appropriate quality standards; ensuring that efficient the mine planning function promotes an efficient mining operation.
• Reconciliation of Actuals to Budgets, both quantitatively and spatially to critically assess and advise alternatives regarding impact of operational achievements on tactical and strategic plans.
• Provide visible leadership and development of the Technical team including knowledge and skills transfer.
• Champion continual improvement of governance, policies, procedures and standards.
• Ensure adherence to SHE policies and procedures in particular ISO 14001:2015 and 45001:2018, and other legal frameworks.

Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology or Survey.
• Post-graduation qualification in management.
• Proficient in geoscience and mining software.
• Member of a professional body in area of study.
• Relevant 10 years’ work experience.
