VACANCY: TEACHER IN CHARGE

Operations/ Location: Triangle, Zimbabwe
Reporting To: The Headmaster
Location: Murray MacDougall School
Key Customers: Parents; Students, Service Providers.

Purpose of Role:
To ensure the smooth rollout of hostel operations, entrance exam facilitation, and SHE best practices, while supporting students’ academic, sporting, cultural, and extracurricular growth in alignment with the New Heritage-based Curriculum Framework under the guidance of school leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Prepares termly Schemes of Work, Weekly Records, and Forecasts.
Uses varied media in the teaching of lessons, including ICT.
Participates in budgetary control of all field trip expenditures through consultations with the Head of the Department.
Submits end-of-year resource requirements for the following year.
Prepares end-of-term performance reports for students and completes corresponding confidential reports for each child at the end of the year.
Teach at least three sporting activities (Tennis, Cricket, Rugby, Soccer, Swimming, Netball, Hockey, etc.).
Prepares online lessons and administers these to learners whenever there is a lockdown.
Ensures strict adherence to all school and company policies.
Be able to teach cultural activities, which include school plays, playing at least three Western instruments, of which one should be a piano or a keyboard.
Coordinates all school hostel requirements, including budgeting and menu reviews from time to time.
Advise the School Head on the latest requirements at the hostel and submits updated hostel registers
Chairs all hostel meetings and attends all committee meetings led by the senior teachers to give guidance and advice to the head on the best way forward.
Plans and organizes in conjunction with the school secretary, for entrance assessments for ECD A to Grade 2 in the school.
Attends workshops as may be assigned by the School Head from time to time.
Have a high appreciation of SHE standard requirements of the school in compliance with THZ philosophy.
Submits Hostel and classroom requirements for inclusion during the school’s annual budget planning process.

Requirements

Bachelor of Education Degree (Primary)
A Master’s in Leadership and management would be an added advantage.
At least 5 years of teaching experience at Murray MacDougall School.
Advanced Oral and written presentation skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Verbal and written proficiency in the English language.
Comprehensive knowledge and experience teaching at the Primary School level
Self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervision
Organizational skills.
Problem-solving capabilities
Ability to teach sports offered sports as usual.
Ability to run online lessons.
To have worked as a hostel superintendent for more than 3 years.
Ability to assist with hostel shopping.
Holder of a valid class 4 or better driver’s license.
Display integrity and independence in protecting the school from unwarranted risk.
Highly developed communication and presentation skills
Collaboration, Influencing, and Building Strategic and Diverse Relationships.
Good analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
