Qualifications and Experience

•6 O Levels including English, Mathematics and Science
•Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or equivalent. A relevant vocational qualification will be an added advantage.
•2 to 4 years experience in a similar or related environment.

Key Result Areas

•Establishes system specifications by conferring with users; analysing workflows, information and security requirements;
•Implements server hardware and operating systems configuration in accordance with standards.
•Designs system infrastructure basing on the gathered system specifications.
•Performs daily system monitoring, so as to identify potential issues with Data Centre and implements corrective action.
•Performs periodic Data centre performance reporting to provide inputs to capacity planning.
•Creates new user accounts and assigns privileges on Data centre systems as per request
•Troubleshoots, resolves and or escalates software and hardware problems to vendors.
•Monitors and maintains system standards to ensure compliance with IT policies.
•Develops and maintains installation and configuration procedures for all applicable systems.
•Attends to all issues raised during previous audit to ensure systems are within recommended audit standards.
•Performs regular security monitoring on systems to identify any possible intrusions thorough performing routine checks and monitoring alarms.
•Secures systems by designing system access, monitoring and control.
•Provides inputs in the formulation of processes and procedures to repair and recover from system failures.
•Implements and tests Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) for the businesses in line with DRP.
•Implements projects within or outside the Data Centre, or where backend systems are concerned.
