JOB DESCRIPTION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of SOFTWARE DEVELOPER-BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE which has arisen within the Judicial Service Commission. The Commission is a dynamic organization that comprises of competent and professional staff. The incumbent will be stationed at the Judicial Service Commission- Secretariat.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Software Developer-Business Intelligence will assist the Head of IT and Records Management to:

• Support and undertake data collection and analysis activities relating to the developments of the court registry and associated case category activities;
• Translate Judicial Service Commission needs into technical specifications;
• Use warehouse data to generate and develop reports to support JSC decision-making and performance monitoring;
• Understand the challenges and proffer solutions within the Business Intelligence environment;
• Evaluate and troubleshoot existing Business Intelligence Systems.

COMPETENCE AND SKILLS FOR THE POST

The person must possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field;
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Bl Developer, Data Analyst, SQL developer or similar role;
• Experience in data warehouse design and working with database technologies (PostgreSQL or Ms Server 2014 or higher) on an administrative level;
• Expert proficiency in Python, R, PSQL and SQL;
• Familiarity with Hadoop or suitable equivalent;
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
