DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the position holder shall be responsible for the folowing:
⦁ Carries out transnvtter. power and sateKte uplink equipment installations.
⦁ Checks and carries out regular preventive maintenance on such equ<xnent.
⦁ Carries out repairs to such equipment down to component level.
⦁ Maintains equipment inventory for the region
⦁ Checks, refuels and maintains stand-by generators and uninterruptible power supply equipment to ensure optimum operation
⦁ Checks transmission availability in the region by communicating with viewers and fcsteners to respond to faults timeously.
⦁ Liases with stakeholders ike ZE SA. bquid and others to rectify transmission and signal faults
⦁ Prepares weekly regional transmission and outage reports.
⦁ Carnes out site maintenance to ensure a clean, presentable and optimum operating environment for the equipment.
⦁ Supervises subo’dmates to ensure they also dispense their duties to expectations.
⦁ Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
⦁ Degree or Higher National Diploma in Electronics/Telecommunications or equivalent.
⦁ 5 years working experience
⦁ h4ust be able to work with minimum supervision.
⦁ Must be able to work under pressure.
⦁ Has good circuit  analysis down to component level.
⦁ Possesses know how to solder and desolder properly.
⦁ Understands test equipment and parameters defined.
⦁ Knowledge and understand of transmitter and associated equipment international standards.
⦁ Must have base networking skills.
