VACANCY: SENIOR TEACHER SHE CUSTODIAN
Location: Triangle, Zimbabwe
Department: Murray MacDougall School
Reporting To: Headmaster
Key Customers: Parents; Students, Service Providers.
Purpose of Role:
To facilitate the smooth rollout of SHE practices in the school, teaching and educational needs of students in accordance with their educational, sporting, cultural, and extracurricular expectations, as guided by the provisions of the New Heritage-based Curriculum Framework under the overall guidance of the Head of School or Head of Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares termly Schemes of Work, Weekly Records, and Forecasts.
- Use varied media in the teaching of lessons, including ICT.
- Budgetary control of all field trip expenditures through consultations with HOD.
- Submission of end-of-year resource requirements for the following year.
- Prepare end-of-term performance reports for students and completing corresponding confidential report for each child at the end of the year.
- Teach at least three sporting activities (Tennis, Cricket, Rugby, Soccer, Swimming, Netball, Hockey, etc.).
- Prepare online lessons and administer these to learners whenever there is a lockdown.
- Ensuring strict adherence to all school and company policies.
- Be able to teach cultural activities, which include school plays, playing at least three Western instruments, of which one should be a piano or a keyboard.
- Reviews the curriculum in use in the school annually.
- Advises the Head on the latest requirements by Zimsec and submits updated examination fee schedules.
- Chairs the SHE committee meeting; responsible for the review of Safe work instructions, objectives and targets, closes all deviations raised in the school.
- Have a high appreciation of SHE standard requirements of the school in compliance with THZ philosophy.
- Submits SHE requirements for inclusion during the school’s annual budget planning process.
- Submits to SHE MSO and BBIs raised by the staff of MMS.
- Attends SHE workshops on policies and procedures regulating the administration of exams.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Education Degree (Primary)
- A Master’s in Leadership and management.
- At least 5 years of teaching experience, of which 3 should be in an ATS school.
- Advanced Oral and written presentation skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Verbal and written proficiency in the English language.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience teaching at Primary School level
- Self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to teach sports offered sports as usual.
- Ability to run online lessons.
- To have worked as a research person and been involved in curriculum development.
- Holder of a valid class 4 or better driver’s license.
- Display integrity and independence in protecting the school from unwarranted risk.
- Highly developed communication and presentation skills

- Good analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
