Job Title: Senior Surveyor (based in Sandawana, Mberengwa)
Job Purpose:
The Senior Surveyor will be responsible for managing and coordinating all survey functions to ensure accurate spatial data is provided to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining operations in compliance with statutory and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain survey control networks in accordance with mine standards.
- Conduct pit surveys, volume calculations, and monthly reconciliations.
- Provide accurate survey data for mine planning and operational purposes.
- Monitor mining progress and report deviations from approved designs.
- Produce survey plans, reports, and statutory plans.
- Maintain survey equipment and ensure calibration standards are adhered to.
- Ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety regulations.
- Supervise and develop survey personnel.
- Support operational and technical services teams with survey information.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Surveying.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in open pit mining, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in mine surveying software.
- Experience with modern survey equipment including Total Station and GPS.
- Drone survey experience.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
