Responsible for effective process control operations of Firle / Crowborough sewage treatment plants by encompassing a range of responsibilities, to manage wastewater treatment to ensure final effluent meets gazetted standards by regulatory authorities for it to be disposed into environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Control and optimize plant and operational schedules, recommend machinery spares and consumable materials.
- Checks and accounts for works operational records, general administration and staff records on daily basis.
- Follow wastewater treatment procedures to achieve high quality effluent and cost containment measures.
- Maintains and updates the asset register for plant and equipment.
- Contributes to list of items for inclusion in the capital and revenue estimates.
- Monitors compliance with safety regulations by staff handling hazardous chemicals and safety of operational equipment on daily basis.
- Be able to operate and train subordinates on plant operations.
- Take necessary precautions and measures to contribute towards climate change positively.
- Performance monitoring and management.
Requirements
- Degree in Process Engineering with at least five (5) years experience or Equivalent / Higher National Diploma in Water and Waste Water Management or Equivalent with at least ten (10) years experience.
- At least five (5) years in Supervisory position with regards to waste water process control.
- A certificate or course in wastewater modelling.
- A clean Class 4 driver’s licence is mandatory
