Section Managers-Livestock Management x 10
We are looking for vibrant and dynamic individuals to fill the above positions.
Reporting to the Incubation Hub Manager-Rural Development and Industrialisation, the incumbents will be responsible for planning, organising and coordinating a livestock management system that will maintain a healthy and disease-free herd. These functions would be in line with the vision of establishing and maintaining a revolving animal farming enterprise that will continuously rejuvenate livestock at the incubation hub.
Duties And Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
The incumbents’ key responsibilities shall include but not limited to: –
• Establishing a feed and feeding management schedule for all livestock at the farm.
• Supervising the cleaning and disinfecting of animal habitats.
• Ability to timeously detect and attend to disease manifestation in all livestock.
• Establishing and managing a robust livestock medication schedule including administration of vaccines and other treatments.
• Ensuring seamless running of all operation concerned with fodder production and management of cattle feed formulations.
• Effecting adequate farm infrastructure repairs and maintenance including paddock fences and general boundaries.
• Scheduling and carrying out artificial insemination (A.I) activities accordingly throughout the year.
Qualifications And Experience
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
• Diploma or equivalent in the fields of Agriculture, Animal husbandry and Irrigation management.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Agricultural Sector.
• Higher qualifications in Livestock Management and Artificial Insemination will be an added advantage.
Attributes
• Strong knowledge in general animal care.
• Extensive knowledge in animal disease treatments and medication administration.
• Hands on experience with feed equipment and other farm related machinery.
• Planning and implementing A.I schedules according to season.
• Excellent command of report writing analysis and presentation skills.
• Innovative, analytical, and solutions oriented.
