Key Responsibilities

• Developing, administering and coordinating all activities within the school.
• Building an effective team that is focused on delivering good results for the school.
• Implementing enriching capacity development programmes for both students and staff.
• Establishing an educational philosophy and school climate which encourages a cooperative and participating attitude on the part of all staff and students.
• Maintenance of effective discipline in the school.
• Maintenance of infrastructure to highest possible standards.
• Identification and maintenance of school development projects.
• Liaising with the Responsible Authority, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and other stakeholders on school requirements, the growth of the school and all relevant policy issues.
• Implementing the curriculum and teaching methods in line with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education protocol.
• Planning and submitting annual needs budget.
• Identifying intellectual, physical, social and emotional needs affecting students’ success in school, and taking corrective measures in consultation with both parents and staff.
• Establishing effective communication channels to keep the staff, students and parents properly informed.
• Establish a School Development Committee in terms of SI 87 of 1992.
• Establishment and maintenance of up to date school records and effective reporting systems.
• Producing a wholesome learner who can fit in today’s society.

Requirements

• Certified university graduate.
• A post graduate qualification in School Administration is an added advantage.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Substantive Head.
• A proven track record of quality results.
