Deadline: 4 March 2019
Established in 1986, the J F Kapnek Trust is a registered (PVO 1/86) not-for profit organisation with special focus in improving health, education protection outcomes for children particularly those with disabilities through implementation of scalable and sustainable community based programmes in rural and urban districts of Zimbabwe. Over the years the organisation has been implementing specific disability programmes utilising various government departments as entry points of service provision to children with disabilities. Kapnek disability programme has interventions that seek to address both the health, education and protection concerns for children with disabilities and in all its efforts, the organisations seeks to strengthen the government systems through the provision of technical and financial support to enable access to disability friendly and accessible services to all children in need. Through its work, the JF Kapnek realised that there is dearth in evidence on disabilities in Zimbabwe particularly on the extent to which CWD are exposed to violence and abuse as well how the various response systems are positioned to address the specific needs of CWD affected by violence.
The organization requires the services of a consultant (s) to conduct research to generate empirical evidence that will feed into policy and practice, particularly in the areas of child protection and justice systems, further enhancing access to quality services within the broader social protection sector for the disabled children and young women in Zimbabwe.
