GRAIN MARKETING BOARD (GMB) RESEARCH OFFICER. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced personnel to fill the above-mentioned position. The incumbent will report to the Business Development Manager and will be based at Head Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and sector analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the agribusiness sector.
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret data on market prices and other relevant economic and industry factors to support business decisions.
  • Prepare research reports, insights, and forecasts to guide strategic planning.
  • Identify new business opportunities and evaluates their feasibility.
  • Develop, implement, and support business development strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and monitor the implementation of the organization’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plan.
  • Identify departmental targets and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and impact.
  • Track performance data and provide analytical reports to inform management decisions.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including farmers, suppliers, industry experts, and partners.
  • Facilitate information sharing and collaboration to support research and business development activities.
  • Prepare and present research findings, analysis, and strategic recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure research data, reports, and records are accurate, current, and well documented.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor in support of departmental and organisational objectives.

Requirements

  • Degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Statistics or equivalent.
  • 5 ‘O’ Levels including English Language and Mathematics.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office and statistical analysis software.
