The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) at the Australian Embassy in Harare is inviting applications for the position of Research and Media Support Officer .

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Embassy’s website and social media output.
  • Provide policy research support to the political, economic and public diplomacy team.
  • Assist with organising meetings, visits and stakeholder engagements.
  • Monitor media developments and open-source reporting across the Embassy’s countries of accreditation.
  • Support the Embassy’s strategic communications and public diplomacy activities.
  • Maintain professional engagement across government, diplomatic, academic and media circles.

Requirements

  • Proven research and analytical skills, ideally in a political, economic or social context.
  • Experience in communications or media.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Sound judgement in monitoring and assessing media developments.
  • The ability to represent the Embassy appropriately across government, diplomatic, academic and media circles.
  • French language skills are desirable.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Zimbabwe .
