Research Consultant: Women’s Rights Organisation

A women’s rights organization requires the services of a consultant (s) to conduct research to generate empirical evidence that will feed into policy and law reform – justice sector reforms, further enhancing access to justice for the marginalized and strengthening confidence in the sector.

Proposed Methodology

The organization proposes among other things the following methodologies: Review of project documents including the Project Proposal, project annual reports (narrative and financial); Review of the monitoring data collected during the project; Interviews with project staff; Interviews with the direct beneficiaries or their representatives thereof; Random interview of court users or their representatives thereof; Observations such as court sit ins.

Key Criteria for Researcher(s)

Strong research experience, preferably in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies; A firm understanding of Zimbabwe’s development landscape; Strong knowledge of legal issues in the country; Strong ability to analyse policy documents and statistical data; A proven track record of research report writing; Ability to write and communicate in more than one official Zimbabwean language is also an advantage

Timelines and progress reports

The assignment shall be varied over a period of 4 weeks commencing from the date of the signing of the engagement letter. The consultant shall be expected to submit the draft report on the last working day of the six week period.
