Key Responsibilities
- Follow up on delinquent accounts through calls, SMS, field visits and formal notices.
- Negotiate repayment plans and ensure customers adhere to agreed terms.
- Conduct field investigations on overdue clients where necessary.
- Prepare daily and weekly arrears reports for management.
- Support litigation processes, including preparation of documentation for Small Claims Court and liaison with legal practitioners.
- Assist in maintaining, reconciling and analyzing written-off and non-performing loan portfolios.
- Maintain updated records of client interactions and payment arrangements.
- Recommend appropriate recovery strategies for difficult accounts.
- Work closely with branch teams to maintain healthy loan portfolios.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Banking, Finance, Business Management or related field.
- At least 2 years’ experience in debt collection or recoveries within a financial institution.
- Valid driver’s licence is an added advantage.
- Conversant with court processes, including Small Claims Court and litigation of bad debts.
- High ethical standards given the nature of the role.
