PROJECTS PLANNING OFFICER – BATOKA GORGE HYDRO-ELECTRIC SCHEME (1)

Responsible for the development of plans to complete construction projects based on the allocated budget, work schedule and available resources, as well as verifying progress regarding payments of Interim Payment Certificates whilst forecasting on the final project costs at completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing, monitoring and updating project programmes.
  • Keeping records of significant events regarding project programmes
  • Preparing regular reports on programme performance
  • Presenting programme performance to stakeholders.
  • Preparing forecast and final costs for the budgets and controlling budgets throught a commitment register.
  • Monotoring and analyzing project trends and changes using qualitative and quantitative tools in order to determine legitimacy and estimated impact on the project schedule and budget
  • Reviewing the total Project and Change Notice estimates in order to ensure the accuracy of estimated costs for the scope of the work at hand.
  • Verifying progress payments, final invoices, escalation and Forex calculations
  • Reading and understating Project Schedules in order to ensure a true reflection of Project progress and forecasted dates
  • Verifying the impact of changes to the Project Schedule.
  • Liaising with the Project Consultant on schedules, change notices, costs and payments
  • In liaison with the Contracts Engineer, red-flagging team members regarding all potential future delays using early-warning notices.
  • Performing any other duties within the scope of the job as may be assigned from time to time by the superior

Requirements

  • Five (5) ‘O’ Levels with credits or better; in English, Mathematics and any Science Subject
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Member of a Professional Body
  • Organizational and time management abilities
  • Good communication skills
  • ICT Skills
  • Sound problem-solving and logical thinking skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
