Job Summary
The incumbent will be responsible for providing technical support to project activities mainly water for production purposes and asset creation

Key duties and Responsibilities

• Plans weekly, monthly and quarterly project activities
• Identifies and registers famers to participate in the project
• Provides technical support on asset creation and water management practices to farmers in collaboration with Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate & Rural Resettlement (MLAWCRR)
• Facilitates the identification of boreholes for rehabilitation in collaboration with stakeholders
• Facilitates the identification of sites for possible establishment of community water storage tanks with solar powered pumps
• Conducts monitoring of activities to ensure proper usage of assets and water infrastructure invested by the project.
• Trains farmers on asset and general water management, (water point committee management, including gender & youth inclusion
• Identifies opportunities to link farmers with private sector for uptake of water related infrastructure
• Monitors agriculture activities at field level and compiles monthly, quarterly reports to the Project Engineer
• Manages relationships with stakeholders including Government line Ministries, NGOs and private sector at Ward level
• Liaises with Agritex, Department of Youth, Gender and Community Development on project monitoring at ward level

Qualifications, skills and experience:

• Undergraduate Degree/ Diploma in Disaster Risk Management, Agriculture, Water, Climate or equivalent
• 2 years’ experience in community development /humanitarian aid work or related
• Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent report writing skills
• Valid class 3 motorbike riding license is an added advantage
• Ability to take initiative.
