Duties And Responsibilities
1. Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies
2. Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships (including international).
3. Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
4. Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
5. Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
6. Examine and test existing contracts
7. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
8. Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
9. Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
10. Forecast unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
11. Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
12. Control expenditure and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
13. Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
14. Talent in negotiating and networking
15. Formulating and maintaining viable procurement systems and processes
Qualifications And Experience
1. BSc degree in supply chain management & logistics or equivalent
2. Minimum of at least 10 years’ experience in a heavy industry/sector in same or similar role
3. Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
4. Experience in collecting and analyzing data
5. Strong leadership capabilities
6. Must have good communication skills and be a team player
7. Be mature and able to work with minimum supervision
