  • This is a managerial post which requires the incumbent to coordinate and manage the procurement function of the University. Applicants must have at least a
  • Master’s Degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management or Accounting and a Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing and Supply/Supply Chain Management from a recognised Institution and at least 10 years’ post qualification experience.
  • Membership of a recognised professional board such as the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or the Zimbabwe Institute of Purchasing and Supply is a prerequisite.
  • Knowledge of Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ) procedures and regulations is a must;
  • knowledge of Pastel Evolution is an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of the University procurement plan;
  • Formulation of internal procurement controls and identifying risks associated with procurement;
  • Oversee the procurement of supplies, services, materials and equipment in compliance with relative legislation and statutes;
  • Preparing bidding documents in compliance with the provisions of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act (Chapter 22:23);
  • Managing the bidding process, related meetings and receipt and opening of bids;
  • Managing the evaluation of bids and any qualification negotiations required;
  • Advising the University Evaluation Committee on tender issues;
  • Determining appropriate procurement methods upon receipt of procurement requests;
  • Preparation of evaluation and procurement reports and submitting evaluation reports to the Accounting Officer;
  • Servicing the University Evaluation Committee and Managing procurement contracts.
