JOB TITLE: PROCUREMENT MANAGER
Role Summary
The Procurement Manager will oversee the purchasing process, develop procurement strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure materials and services are delivered on time and within budget. The Procurement Manager plays a key role in optimizing supply chain performance and supporting our operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement procurement policies and strategies.
• Draft the Annual Procurement and Disposal Plan.
• Source, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts and relationships.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast procurement needs.
• Ensure compliance with quality, cost, and delivery targets.
• Analyse market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Collaborate with internal departments (finance, operations, etc.) to align procurement with business objectives.
• Prepare reports on procurement KPIs and supplier performance.
• Ensure procurement activities meet legal and ethical standards.
• Maintain, update procurement records and generate reports on procurement and contract management.
• Interpret the Public Procurement and Disposal Act (Chapter 22:23) (PPDA) and other Government instructions to Management and staff.
• Provide the interface between the organisation and Procurement Regulatory Authority.
• Provide technical advice to the Disposal Committee on disposal of obsolete material and equipment in accordance with the PPDA Act.
Qualifications and Experience
• Master’s degree in supply chain, Procurement.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Procurement, or related field.
• CIPS certification is an added advantage.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in a procurement or supply chain role.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in procurement software and EGP systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
