Position Overview

 

 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Intern to support our procurement department at the Smallholder Agriculture Cluster Project Head Office. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in procurement processes, supply chain management, and contract administration while contributing to impactful projects in the agricultural sector.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

•⁠ ⁠Assist in the preparation and execution of procurement documents, including requests for quotations (RFQs), tenders, and purchase orders.
•⁠ ⁠Support the procurement team in identifying and researching potential suppliers/vendors to meet project needs.
•⁠ ⁠Participate in evaluation of bids and helping to select the most appropriate vendors based on established criteria.
•⁠ ⁠Maintain accurate and organized procurement records, logs, and databases.
•⁠ ⁠Assist in tracking and reporting on delivery timelines, and supplier performance.
•⁠ ⁠Contribute to the development and maintenance of procurement policies and procedures.
•⁠ ⁠Help prepare reports and presentations related to procurement activities and project updates.
•⁠ ⁠Collaborate with team members on various procurement-related tasks and projects as needed.
•⁠ ⁠Engage with stakeholders to facilitate communication and support procurement objectives.

 

 

Qualifications and Competences

 

 

•⁠ ⁠Currently pursuing a Degree in Supply Chain Management, or a related field. (Attach official letter from the University)
•⁠ ⁠Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
•⁠ ⁠Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•⁠ ⁠Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•⁠ ⁠Familiarity with procurement processes and supply chain concepts is a plus.
•⁠ ⁠Ability to work independently and collaboratively ina team environment.
•⁠ ⁠Demonstrated interest in agriculture and sustainable development is an advantage.
