Job Summary

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the above mentioned vacant post that has arisen within the Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (ZIMDEF) – an equal opportunity employer.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists in the entire procurement cycle to include all tendering activities
• Receiving procurement requisitions from user departments
• Creating purchase requisitions in line with standing procedures and guidelines
• Sourcing quotations for goods and services as assigned from time to time
• Preparing comparative schedules for approval
• Assisting in the consolidation of departmental procurement plans
• Liaising with suppliers through sending purchasing orders and expediting deliveries
• Filing and assists in the maintenance of all procurement records
• Provide secretarial services and technical guidance to internal Evaluation Committees
• Tracking supplier’s payments in liaison with the Finance Department
• Assists in monitoring contracts with respect to performance, deliverables and contract expiration dates
• Preparing of ad hoc, monthly, quarterly and annual procurement reports and returns

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or equivalent degree
• A professional qualification in procurement preferably CIPS or any related qualification an added advantage
• At least two years’ relevant experience in the Public Procurement environment Ability to work under immense pressure and beyond stipulated hours
• Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Packages
• Good organisational, people and time management skills and sound knowledge of public procurement management
• Good communication and strong interpersonal skills
• A team player who is innovative and analytical
