Job Summary
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the above mentioned vacant post that has arisen within the Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (ZIMDEF) – an equal opportunity employer.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in the entire procurement cycle to include all tendering activities
- Receiving procurement requisitions from user departments
- Creating purchase requisitions in line with standing procedures and guidelines
- Sourcing quotations for goods and services as assigned from time to time
- Preparing comparative schedules for approval
- Assisting in the consolidation of departmental procurement plans
- Liaising with suppliers through sending purchasing orders and expediting deliveries
- Filing and assists in the maintenance of all procurement records
- Provide secretarial services and technical guidance to internal Evaluation Committees
- Tracking supplier’s payments in liaison with the Finance Department
- Assists in monitoring contracts with respect to performance, deliverables and contract expiration dates
- Preparing of ad hoc, monthly, quarterly and annual procurement reports and returns
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or equivalent degree
- A professional qualification in procurement preferably CIPS or any related qualification an added advantage
- At least two years’ relevant experience in the Public Procurement environment Ability to work under immense pressure and beyond stipulated hours
- Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Packages
- Good organisational, people and time management skills and sound knowledge of public procurement management
- Good communication and strong interpersonal skills
- A team player who is innovative and analytical
