Key Responsibilities

  • Assume the ultimate responsibility of the overall management and operation of the Institution, TESC policies, strategies and regulations as guided by national development imperatives.
  • Manage the human, financial and material resources of the Institution as per TESC, Ministry and government policies and regulations.
  • Ensure implementation of good corporate governance principles at the Institution.
  • Drive the implementation of programs that promote Innovation and Industrialization in terms of the Heritage-Based Philosophy of Education 5.0.
  • Contribute to the development, review and evaluation of the curriculum with a view to align it to national goals and priorities.
  • Oversee the students’ enrolment process and promote gender equality and equity in higher and tertiary education.
  • Monitor and coordinate the production of the Institution’s time tables and ensure that all activities are carried out according to stipulated times.
  • Create and maintain high standards of teaching and learning through effective and efficient supervision of teaching staff.
  • Ensure that students abide by the Institution’s code of ethics/conduct and safe guard their general welfare and well-being.
  • Oversee the administration of all examinations at the Institution.
  • Coordinate the compilation of students’ assessment profiles and present them for certification.
  • Monitor and facilitate adherence to approved Lecturer-student ratios at the Institution.
  • Coordinate the implementation of Institution’s income generating projects.
  • Maintain personal contact with all Institution staff members, fostering good public relations, promoting high morale and identifying problems as early as possible.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by TESC.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Education Degree with a bias in Educational Administration, Adult Education, Applied Education, Educational Management or equivalent.
  • Master’s Degree with a bias in Educational Administration or equivalent.
  • PhD is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years at Vice Principal level or equivalent.
  • Thorough understanding of current national development policies, programs and priorities.
  • Thorough understanding of the Manpower Planning and Development Act Chapter 28:02 as amended and the Manpower Planning and Development (Tertiary Education Service) Regulations SI 27 of 2025.
  • Strong organizational, communication, public relations and interpersonal skills.
  • Be mature and have good public relations.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly computer literate.
