Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily poultry operations, including monitoring bird health, welfare and performance
  • Ensure optimal environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, ventilation and lighting quality
  • Monitor and manage feed and water intake to ensure efficient growth and production
  • Plan and coordinate daily activities, including production schedules and resource utilisation
  • Prepare and manage budgets for poultry production activities
  • Supervise and manage feed and water intake to ensure efficient growth and production
  • Maintain and manage labour within a poultry unit
  • Maintain strict biosecurity protocols and ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards
  • Oversee turnaround activities, including cleaning, disinfection and preparation of poultry houses
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment, facilities and personal protective equipment

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, or equivalent from a reputable institution
  • A Master’s Degree would be an added advantage
  • At least two (2) years of relevant practical experience in broiler production
  • Experience in livestock production would be an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of poultry production systems, biosecurity and animal welfare practices.
