Key Responsibilities

Manage daily poultry operations, including monitoring bird health, welfare and performance
Ensure optimal environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, ventilation and lighting quality
Monitor and manage feed and water intake to ensure efficient growth and production
Plan and coordinate daily activities, including production schedules and resource utilisation
Prepare and manage budgets for poultry production activities
Supervise and manage feed and water intake to ensure efficient growth and production
Maintain and manage labour within a poultry unit
Maintain strict biosecurity protocols and ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards
Oversee turnaround activities, including cleaning, disinfection and preparation of poultry houses
Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment, facilities and personal protective equipment

Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, or equivalent from a reputable institution
A Master’s Degree would be an added advantage
At least two (2) years of relevant practical experience in broiler production
Experience in livestock production would be an added advantage.
Strong understanding of poultry production systems, biosecurity and animal welfare practices.
