Network Engineer
• Degree In Information Technology or equivalent;
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a university or corporate environment
• Certificate in networking Cisco Certified Network Associate iCC., or equivalent
• Project management is an added advantage
• Skills in the following: Tracking Budget Expenses, Problem Solving, AWN and LAN …edge, Pro, Servers, Networking
• Knowledge, Network Design and Implementation, Network Troubleshooting. Network Hardware Configuration,
• Network Performance Tuning, knowledge of Cloud Technologies and, People management
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to present ideas to team members and clients clearly
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and maintain timely communication with other IT work groups • Excellent technical problem-solving skills including the ability to identify, priorities and resolve multiple complex technical problems
• High standards of professional ethics including maintaining confidentiality and respecting privacy
• Attention to detail and good Judgement in avoiding unplanned service interruptions
• Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, enforcing system standards; defining
• Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages; collaborating with network architects on network optimization
• Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access;
• Accomplishes information systems and organisation mission by completing related results as need.;
• Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information, managing projects;
• Integration of technologies from various virtualised server and storage vendors;
• Providing direct engineering support to customer institutions as and when required;
• Researching and evaluating new education delivery technologies;
• Will also be Involved in deployment, performance monitoring and analysis, customer support, writing documentation, conducting training, product support, disaster recovery planning and
• Assisting in coordinating capacity building programmes for customer Institutions.
