Job Title: MINING TEAM LEADER

Role Purpose:
Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified persons to fill in the following vacancy that has arisen within Croco Holdings group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise underground or open-pit gold mining teams
  • Ensure compliance with mine health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and pre-shift safety inspections
  • Oversee drilling, blasting, ore extraction, and hauling activities
  • Monitor ore grade control and minimize dilution and ore loss
  • Ensure proper handling and transportation of gold-bearing material
  • Coordinate with geology and processing teams to optimize gold recovery
  • Monitor and achieve daily and weekly production targets
  • Inspect working areas for hazards such as rockfalls, gas, and water ingress
  • Ensure correct use and maintenance of mining equipment (drills, loaders, dump trucks)
  • Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses
  • Maintain accurate production, safety, and shift reports
  • Train and mentor team members on safe mining practices and procedures

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills
  • Solid understanding of gold mining methods (e.g. open-pit mining)
  • Knowledge of ore grade control and gold recovery principles
  • Excellent safety awareness and risk management skills
  • Ability to interpret mine plans and geological data
  • Diploma or Degree in Mining Engineering or related field
  • Valid Blasting License
  • Mine Supervisor Certificate an added advantage
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in gold mining operations
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory role
