Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and implement weekly and monthly digital marketing activities aligned with the Sales Supervisor’s targets and campaign priorities.
  • Manage approved company channels, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp Business, email and online business listings.
  • Create accurate, professional content such as product photographs, short videos, graphics, technical highlights, promotions, customer success stories and company updates.
  • Maintain a current digital catalogue covering product names, specifications, grades, sizes, finishes, applications and approved images.
  • Respond promptly to online enquiries, capture complete prospect details and route qualified opportunities into the sales follow-up process.
  • Plan segmented email and WhatsApp campaigns for contractors, mines, manufacturers, retailers, utilities and other target groups.
  • Monitor reach, engagement, enquiries, lead sources and conversions; recommend improvements based on performance data.
  • Ensure every public message follows approved branding, pricing, technical and confidentiality requirements.
  • Conduct planned visits to prospects and existing customers within assigned territories, following an approved weekly itinerary.
  • Present the company’s product range and supply capabilities to procurement officers, engineers, project managers, contractors, retailers and business owners.
  • Identify customer requirements, including specifications, quantities, purchasing cycles, project timelines, decision makers and competitor products currently used.
  • Prospect at construction sites, industrial areas, mines, factories, workshops, hardware stores and institutional procurement departments.
  • Identify tenders, maintenance shutdowns, infrastructure projects and other events likely to generate demand for industrial fasteners or electricity-line hardware.
  • Distribute approved catalogues, samples and promotional materials, maintaining records of all items issued.
  • Gather reliable market intelligence on demand, price movements, competitor activity, stock availability and unmet customer needs.
  • Represent the company professionally at trade fairs, exhibitions, industry meetings and customer events.
  • Generate qualified leads in line with agreed weekly and monthly targets.
  • Record each lead’s contact details, business profile, product requirement, estimated quantity or value, urgency and next action in the approved register or CRM.
  • Qualify opportunities according to need, purchasing authority, timing, commercial potential and probability of conversion.
  • Coordinate with the Sales Supervisor and sales team on quotations, samples, follow-up dates and account-development actions.
  • Follow up digital and field enquiries until the opportunity is converted, formally deferred or closed with a recorded reason.
  • Help reactivate dormant accounts and identify cross-selling opportunities among existing customers.
  • Escalate technical questions, complaints, delivery concerns and significant customer risks to the responsible department without delay.
  • Develop working knowledge of bolts, nuts, washers, threaded rod, specialised fasteners, related hardware and their common applications.
  • Understand relevant product terminology, dimensions, materials, grades, finishes and customer quality expectations.
  • Use only approved technical information, and obtain technical confirmation before recommending products for safety-critical applications.
  • Stay informed about target industries, new projects, procurement patterns and changing customer requirements.
  • Submit daily field activity records and concise weekly reports to the Sales Supervisor.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and current customer, prospect, campaign, sample and follow-up records.
  • Report monthly on visits, campaigns, enquiries, leads, quotations, conversions, customer feedback, competitor intelligence and recommended actions.
  • Account for approved field expenses, promotional materials and samples using the required supporting documents.
  • Attend sales meetings, present progress against targets and implement agreed corrective actions.
  • Any other duties as assigned. This may include deliveries, preparing orders and other day to day activities as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Management, Digital Marketing, Communications or a related discipline.
  • At least two years’ relevant experience in marketing, field sales, business development, customer acquisition or a comparable commercial role.
  • Practical experience managing business social-media accounts, digital campaigns and customer databases.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial products, construction materials, engineering supplies or hardware is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, internet research, WhatsApp Business and basic content-production tools.
  • A valid driver’s licence.
