Zimbabwe Media Commission is inviting suitably qualified candidates to fill in the following post that has arisen at the Commission.
JOB TITLE : MANAGER: PUBLIC INFORMATION COMPLIANCE
GRADE : E5
REPORTS TO : DIRECTOR PUBLIC INFORMATION COMPLIANCE
JOB SUMMARY
The overall purpose of the office is to promote, coordinate and oversee the implementation of the Freedom of Information Act [Chapter 10:33], ensuring compliance with information access standards and the Commission’s regulatory framework. The incumbent will also lead initiatives that enhance transparency, accountability and proactive disclosure by public institutions in line with the Zimbabwe Media Commission’s constitutional mandate to uphold citizens’ right to access information.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct compliance assessments and audits to evaluate information disclosure practices.

Develop guidelines, toolkits, and frameworks for information officers to strengthen compliance.

Organize and facilitate training workshops for information officers and public officials on the Freedom of Information Act.

Develop and disseminate training materials, manuals and awareness tools on information rights and compliance.

Coordinate public awareness campaigns on the right of access to information and the role of the ZMC.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Law, Public Administration or related field.

A Master’s degree in Social Sciences, or related fields.

A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in related fields, or compliance within a regulatory or public service environment.

Sound understanding of the Freedom of Information Act and Regulations.

Proven experience in policy implementation, stakeholder engagement, and public information management.

Strong knowledge of access to information laws and information rights frameworks.

Excellent written, and oral communication skills and workshop facilitation abilities.

Strong understanding of information management principles, practices and laws.

Experience with managing projects including developing project plans, tracking progress and evaluating outcomes.

High ethical standards, integrity, attention to detail and commitment to transparency.

Proficiency in ICTs and digital communication platforms.
