POSITION: LOCUM MEDICAL DOCTOR
GRADE: 13
DEPARTMENT: HEALTH SERVICES DEPARTMENT
REPORTING TO: DIRECTOR HEALTH SERVICES
The Locum Medical Doctor is a critical position that focuses on providing the Medical functions of the Primary Health Care, Family Health and Community Health Services in accordance with die World Health Organisation and the Ministry of Health and Child Care.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent
- Registration Certificate with Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe
- Valid Practising Certificate
- 3 years post qualification experience
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

- Ability to work under pressure
- Upholding of Ethical Principles and Professionalism
- Excellent knowledge in Primary Health Care Services
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides Medical Cover to all Council Health Facilities
- Provides Direct Patient Care and performs related duties as required
- Provides Consultation to Nursing Staff on Medical, Emergency Response and outside Patient referral issues
- Ensures Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines are adhered to during execution of Clinical duties
- Assisting in Emergency Preparedness and Response
- Works in strict adherence to ethical guidelines in order to reduce Organizational exposure to Medical Malpractice
- Any other duties as assigned by the Director Health Services
