The Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following position that has arisen within the Organization.

LEGAL OFFICER (2 Posts)

DEPARTMENT: CORPORATE SERVICES

Reporting to Legal Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in the formulation and implementation of policies, processes, and procedures including all legal matters in line with PRAZ’s mandate.
• Participate in the provision of technical advice and provides secretarial services to PRAZ, the Board, The Review Panel, debarment committees, disciplinary committee, and SPOC on all legal matters.
• Ensures compliance with corporate governance framework, internal controls, and statutory regulations in line with the prevailing legislation.
• Inputs into the development and compilation of monthly and quarterly reports on the department’s performance
• Maintaining and handling PRAZ litigation
  Appear in court to give expert evidence on procurement matters
• Drafts, assesses, and reviews legal documents relating to the Authority’s mandate
• Conducts research, interpret laws and court decisions in relation to their impact on the Authority
• Participate in the negotiation and resolution of contractual disputes
• Conducts capacity-building training for procuring entities and bidders on legal aspects of public procurement

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree
  Amember of the Law Society of Zimbabwe
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years working experience in a reputable organisation
• Good legislation drafting and interpretation skills
