Key Responsibilities

• Represents the organization in legal matters under the supervision of the Legal Manager;
• Conducts legal research, review progress of cases under litigation and liaise with external lawyers;
• Interprets laws, rules and regulations and prepare legal opinions;
• Provides appropriate legal advice to management and ensure regulatory compliance;
• Drafts, reviews and provides legal advice on MOUs, contracts, and tender documents;
• Reviews ongoing legal matters and advise management accordingly;
• Liaises with various departments and provide appropriate legal advice;
• Provides guidance on contract matters to project managers or other operational staff;
• Develops and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with appropriate NetOne policies;
• Interfaces with regulatory authorities and other relevant bodies on legal issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree (LLBS) from a reputable institution;
• A minimum of 3 years post qualification experience which includes legal drafting, contract review, litigation and statutory interpretation;
• Must be registered with the Law Society of Zimbabwe;
• Should be conversant in commercial, criminal and labour laws of Zimbabwe.
• Legal drafting skills;
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
• Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules and regulations relative to work situations;
• A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality;
• In-depth knowledge of contract and labour law;
• Excellent communication, negotiation and diplomatic skills;
• Possess a high level of confidentiality;
• Excellent command of the English language.
