Job Title: LEGAL OFFICER x 2
Responsibility:
The incumbent shall be responsible to the Legal Manager.
Key Job Purposes:
To provide legal advisory, regulatory and compliance services to the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Represents the organization in legal matters under the supervision of the Legal Manager;
- Conducts legal research, review progress of cases under litigation and liaise with external lawyers;
- Interprets laws, rules and regulations and prepare legal opinions;
- Provides appropriate legal advice to management and ensure regulatory compliance;
- Drafts, reviews and provides legal advice on MOUs, contracts, and tender documents;
- Reviews ongoing legal matters and advise management accordingly;
- Liaises with various departments and provide appropriate legal advice;
- Provides guidance on contract matters to project managers or other operational staff;
- Develops and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with appropriate NetOne policies;
- Interfaces with regulatory authorities and other relevant bodies on legal issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree (LLBS) from a reputable institution;
- A minimum of 3 years post qualification experience which includes legal drafting, contract review, litigation and statutory interpretation;
- Must be registered with the Law Society of Zimbabwe;
- Should be conversant in commercial, criminal and labour laws of Zimbabwe.
- Legal drafting skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules and regulations relative to work situations;
- A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality;
- In-depth knowledge of contract and labour law;
- Excellent communication, negotiation and diplomatic skills;
- Possess a high level of confidentiality;
- Excellent command of the English language.
