Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to staff and students on computer hardware, software, and ICT-related issues.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain desktop and laptop computers.
  • Diagnose and repair hardware faults and replace defective components where necessary.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems and application software.
  • Maintain and support computer laboratories, ensuring all equipment is functional and ready for teaching and learning.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and repair printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices.
  • Provide support for audiovisual equipment used in classrooms, meetings, and conferences.
  • Assist in user account creation, password resets, and access management.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on ICT equipment.
  • Maintain an inventory of ICT assets and update maintenance records.
  • Assist in the deployment of new ICT systems and technologies.
  • Support basic network connectivity troubleshooting, including wired and wireless networks.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior ICT personnel where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with University ICT policies, cybersecurity standards, and data protection requirements.
  • Provide user orientation and basic ICT training where required.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of ICT.

Requirements

  • A Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
  • At least one (1) year of relevant experience in ICT support. Recent graduates with strong practical skills are encouraged to apply.
  • Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, Cisco, HP, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
  • Experience in printer installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Basic networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, LAN, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
  • Knowledge of antivirus and endpoint security solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
