JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
- Modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces.
- Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
- Working with departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.
- Talk staff through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
- Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
- Replace parts as required
- Designing and developing software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and design consequences.
- Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
- Support the roll-out of new applications
- Set up new users’ accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
- Prioritize and manage many open cases at one time
- Test and evaluate new technology
- Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
Requirements
- A Degree in Information Technology/ Computer Science or relevant
- At Least 5 years experience working as an IT officer or a similar role.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Experience with software design and development.
- Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. C++, Java, JavaScript) and frameworks/systems (e.g. AngularJS, Git)
