NetOne Cellular (Private) Limited seeks to recruit highly motivated, outstanding and results oriented individuals to fill the following positions.
IT NETWORK ENGINEERS

RESPONSIBILITY
Reporting to IT Network Specialist

KEY JOB PURPOSE
To design the network, upgrade the network infrastructure, monitor performance on key network nodes, troubleshoot and implement solutions and configure key network elements and integrations with the core network and third parties.

PRINCIPAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Configures security settings and access permissions for NetOne network devices;
2. Reviews the network requirements and sets up network systems accordingly;
3. Configures Wide Area Network (WAN) or Local Area Network routers (LAN) and related equipment;
4. Analyses network data to determine network usage and documents network support activities;
5. Evaluates Local Area Network (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN) performance data to ensure sufficient network availability;
6. Develops IP network plan for NetOne core and access nodes;
7. Prepares method of procedure and scripts for routers and switches for network integration;
8. Develops performance monitoring and Optimization process for IP/MPLS Networks;
9. Designs and implements Geographical redundant solutions for various nodes of core networks;
10. Configures and defines parameters for installation or testing of Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network
(WAN), hubs, routers, switches, controllers, multiplexers, or related networking equipment;
11. Creates and updates technical documentation for network installation or changes to existing installations
12. Identifies the causes of networking problems, using diagnostic testing software and equipment;
13. Ensures compliance of NetOne Network Policies;
14. Manages network devices like Firewalls, IDS and VPN.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
⦁ A Bachelors degree in Information Technology, or equivalent from a recognized institution;
⦁ Minimum of 3 years* experience with CISCO router and switch configurations;
⦁ Possess current CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification;
⦁ Previous experience with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS);
⦁ Strong knowledge of IP services ami practices;
⦁ Advanced Knowledge of Data communications, IP and Network management tools;
⦁ Advanced Knowledge on Routing and Switching Protocols;
⦁ Hands-on experience in Cisco and Juniper routers.

COMPETENCIES
⦁ Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills;
⦁ Good troubleshooting skills;
⦁ Sound knowledge of IP background;
⦁ In depth knowledge of problem solving techniques.
