INTERNAL AUDITOR – Zimbabwe Electoral Commission 302 views

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) is an Independent Electoral Management Body established in terms of Section 238 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe. Its major function is to manage and conduct elections to the offices of the President, Parliament, Local Authorities, Referendums, and all related electoral processes in accordance with the laws of Zimbabwe and international best practices.
The Commission wishes to recruit professionals of high integrity with good communication and decision-making skills, and sound knowledge of electoral democracy to fill vacancies that have arisen in the institution. Suitably qualified women are encouraged to apply.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
⦁ Planning and conducting audit assignments in line with the approved audit plan;
⦁ Participating in the development of Annual Risk Internal Audit Plans;
⦁ Performing audit assignments in accordance with the International Professional Standards on Internal Auditing and the Commissions Internal Audit Charter;
⦁ Carrying out special investigations and consulting engagements as assigned;
⦁ Conducting organizations wide risk assessment and identifying controls to mitigate the risks;
⦁ Coming up with applicable audit work procedures against specified audit objectives;
⦁ Designing, testing, and reporting on the efficiency and effectiveness of the existing key internal controls;
⦁ Preparing sound and robust recommendations that address any identified internal control deficiencies and;
⦁ Preparing Audit Working Papers for review by the Chief Internal Auditor.
⦁ Carry out any other duty assigned.
Qualifications / Job Specifications
⦁ A degree in Accounting. Auditing. Finance and related field.
⦁ Professional qualifications such as ACCA, and SAAA.IAC.CIS , VIMA or equivalent is an added advantage;
⦁ Good understanding pf the Public Accounts procedures and regulations (including PFMAS);
⦁ Exposure to public administration setups is an added advantage;
⦁ A minimum of 3 years experience in the Auditing or Accounting field;
⦁ Ability to work under minimum supervision and under pressure and;
⦁ Computer literacy and knowledge of modern accounting packages.
⦁ Clean class 4 driver’s license.
