Key Responsibilities

• Establish the long-term, medium-term and short-term objectives of the internal audit function.
• Plan and develop an annual audit risk-based plan to determine the priorities for the internal audit activity in line with MRDC`s goals and present it to council for approval.
• Periodically review the Internal Audit Charter and present it to the council for approval.
• Initiate, develop, and recommend policies and procedures for the internal audit activity.
• Develop, recommend, and implement internal audit programs that test compliance with established internal controls, policies, and procedures to promote greater efficiency and effectiveness in the use of the company assets and financial resources.
• Develop and maintain a quality assurance and improvement program that covers all aspects of the internal audit activity.

Requirements

• A degree from a recognised University in Auditing, Banking, Finance or Accounting
• A full CIS or CIA or CIMA) is also acceptable
• At least 3 years post qualification experience in middle management position in accounting or auditing. Local government experience is an added advantage.
• A citizen of Zimbabwe
• No criminal record
• Clean Class 4 driver’s license
• At least 30 years old and mature
• A clean record of service within the Local Government Sector where applicable
