The following vacancy has arisen within Group Internal Audit and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill this vacancy. The incumbent will be responsible for providing independent assurance to Senior Management and the Audit Committee on the design, adequacy and operating effectiveness of systems to ensure the effective management of significant risks across the Group.
Job Specification
- Executing the Internal Audit functions and activities in accordance with the Charter, specific acts and other regulations applicable to the business.
- Evaluating and improving overall audit operations by leveraging technology and other tools.
- Applying external benchmarks for performance standards.
- Developing internal standards and frameworks for audit work execution to further supplement current Institute of Internal Auditors standards as well as regulatory requirements.
- Providing input into annual planning process to develop a risk based annual audit plan.
- Delivering of the annual audit plan as approved.
- Assisting in the establishment and implementation of the overall First Mutual Holdings Ltd Group Internal Audit Strategy.
- Stakeholder management (internal and external)
- Alignment with other assurance providers (e.g external audit, risk management, compliance, etc)
- Reviewing planning documentation and approving audit programs on areas to be audited.
- Collating draft reports highlighting the cause, implication and management comments regarding issues which need to be addressed and noted in the final report.
- Carrying out investigations as requested by Executives in charge of busines units and tip off anonymous.
- Reviewing work done by Internal Auditors ensuring that it has been done according to the audit programme.
Person Specification
- Degree in Accounting
- Certified Internal Auditor
- Articles of Clerkship will be an added advantage. .
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar or related environment 2 of which should be in a management position

- Strong leadership capabilities key to optimising the performance of a team and building credibility across the organisaU^F
